The City of Gainesville collects single-stream recycling and provides city customers with a recycling container. Recycling bins must be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on your designated pickup day.
What can I recycle?
Cans: Aluminum and tin cans. Rinse out, flatten (optional).
Scrap metal: Less than 5 pounds and less than 18 inches in length.

Clean and dry newspapers
Hardback or paperback books
Magazines
Mail
Paperboard boxes
Paper bags
Paper frozen food boxes
Phonebooks
Writing paper
Plastic - Bottles No. 1 and No. 2, such as those used to hold detergent, milk, soda or shampoo. Rinse out and remove lids.
Cardboard - Flattened boxes (must fit in recycling bin).
