The South Carolina native, whose family has long been active in government,
served with distinction on the Gainesville Board of Education prior to her
election to the Council in 2002. Educated at Agnes Scott College and the
University of Georgia, she formerly owned a private home care agency. She
worked in geriatric, child and adolescent psychiatric social work as well. Mrs. Bruner adds a new dimension to the City Council's perspective on its
long range mission and annual work plan. Focusing on quality of life issues
such as greenspace and parks, her public service and business management
skills lend much to annexation and zoning requests and the Main Street and
Midtown initiatives. As a quintessential debater and bridge builder, she
is passionate about smooth municipal relations and critical decisions which have
a direct impact on the city schools.
She and her husband, Robert, are members of the First United Methodist Church. They have two sons and two grandchildren.

Danny is a native of Gainesville. He was educated in the Gainesville Public Schools and attended Gainesville College and Lanier Technical College. He has owned and operated Three D Cleaners for 28 years. With 5 locations in the Gainesville area, he employs 27 people. Danny is no stranger to Gainesville government. He has served on the Gainesville Airport Advisory Board, the City's Impact Fee Advisory Committee and the Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board where he was named chairman from 2002-mid-2006. As a City Council member Danny says he is most interested in Quality of Life for the citizens of Gainesville. To him that means safe neighborhoods, keeping taxes down and planning for growth.
He also serves as a director of the Gainesville Rotary Club and as president of the Chattahoochee Country Club. Danny and his wife, Mary Lee, are members of the First United Methodist Church. They have a son and a daughter, and one grandson.

George Wangemann has served on the Gainesville City Council since 1987. He was educated at Brigham Young University where he received a BA in Political Science. Mr. Wangemann lists his City Council goals as having a drug-free City, working on a City/County Industrial Park for High Technology, providing transportation relief and building an additional reservoir for future water needs. He currently serves on the Community Council on Aging, Legacy Link, the Disability Resource Center Board, the Interactive Neighborhood for Kids Board of Directors and the Gainesville/Hall County Beautification Committee. Mr. Wangemann holds a county-wide clean up effort each month in cooperation with Keep Hall Beautiful.
One of the highlights of his career in public office occurred in 1996. As Mayor, Mr. Wangemann hosted the 1996 Olympic Rowing, Sprint-Canoe/Kayak games at Clark's Bridge Park. Mr. Wangemann also campaigned hard in 2005 for support of the Georgia law to ban smoking in restaurants. He also sponsored a very successful Community Service Week which he promoted by speaking to more than 15-thousand residents in local churches.
Mr. Wangemann is employed by Alvin Gibson's Dental Designs in Gainesville and is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is married to Judy Richards Wangemann and is the father of five children and two grandchildren.

Mr. Hamrick has dedicated a portion of his life to serving the citizens of Gainesville. He was educated at Emory at Oxford, Emory University and the Atlanta Law School. After Military Service, he enjoyed a long career in the poultry industry and banking before his retirement in 1993. During more than 38 years of public service he has helped transform Gainesville into the regional business center of Northeast Georgia. Mr. Hamrick lists his current City goals as identifying short-term traffic improvements, recruiting more retail, commercial and industrial development, increasing housing code enforcement efforts, and moving forward with the Midtown Renaissance Plan.
Mr. Hamrick enjoys gardening, serving on Salvation Army's Advisory Board and other community outreach programs, attending University of Georgia sporting events, and cheering for the Red Elephants. He is a member of First United Methodist Church. He is married to Carolyn Ashe Hamrick. They have three children and 5 grand-children.

Myrtle W. Figueras was elected to the Council in 1996 and served as Mayor in 2001-2002 and 2008-2009. Under her leadership the City opened Lakeside Water Treatment Plant, completed upgrades at Flat Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, held the first annual Citizen's Government Academy, opened the Frances Meadows Aquatic and Community Center, Fair Street Neighborhood Center, built the Georgia Mountains Center Parking Deck and began construction on a new Gainesville Police Department and Fire Station #1.
Council Member Figueras serves on the Elachee Board of Directors, Friends of Gainesville Parks, the Historic Preservation Committee, Gainesville Multicultural Committee, Restoration and Preservation Mission and the Georgia Municipal Association Board of Directors. She also hosts a Second Saturday meeting each month called the Citizen’s Involvement Advisory Roundtable. She keeps her constituents informed with a monthly newsletter.
She is actively involved in several community organizations including St. John Baptist Church. Originally from Thomasville, Georgia, Ms. Fig was educated in North Carolina, Georgia and France. She taught French at Gainesville High School for 30 years and began her career in public service during retirement. She enjoys spending time with her son Antonio, his wife Lori and her granddaughters, Arrin and Alexia.

Kip Padgett started his career with the City of Gainesville in 2002 as the Director of Planning and Development. Prior to coming to Gainesville, Kip worked in local Planning Departments for Athens-Clarke County and Dawson County as well as the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was named Assistant City Manager in May 2007 and City Manager in January 2009. Kip holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Science Degree in Administration from Georgia College and State University.
He is married to Tracy Hilliard and they have two children, Emma and Cole.
Kip enjoys spending time with his family and is a die-hard University of Georgia Football fan.
