PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING DEMOLITION AND ABATEMENT PROJECT
CITY OF GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA
SEPARATE SEALED BIDS for furnishing all materials and providing all labor, tools, and equipment will be received by The City of Gainesville at the Public Utilities Engineering and Construction Services Division Office, 757 Queen City Parkway, 2nd Floor, Gainesville, Georgia 30501, until 2:00 p.m., local time, on September 23, 2010. The Bidder shall provide on the outside of a sealed envelope the Bidder's name and Contractor’s Business License Number or General Contractor’s License if already obtained from the State of Georgia. Any bid submitted which does not contain the above information will not be opened and will be returned to the bidder. The Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:05 p.m., local time, on said date in room 305 of the Public Utilities Department, 757 Queen City Parkway, 3rd Floor, Gainesville, Georgia, 30501.
THE PROJECT consists of the following major elements: the demolition of the City’s old Public Safety Building which is a 2-story structure with approximately 23,065 sq. ft., demolition of a 1-story gun range with approximately 1,800 sq. ft., the abatement of asbestos floor tile and mastics approximately 11,500 sq. ft., the abatement of thermal systems insulation approximately 3,500 LF, and the demolition of asphalt parking and associated site features. Quantities are approximate and Bidder shall field verify quantities for preparing bid. Property is located at 118 Jesse Jewell Parkway, Gainesville, GA 30501.

YEAR 23 WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS – CONTRACT I

SEPARATE SEALED BIDS for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and appurtenances necessary for the Year 23 Water Main Improvements – Contract I are planned to be received by the Owner.
THE PROJECT consists of the following major elements: Furnishing all products and performing all labor necessary for the construction of approximately 550 L.F. of 8-inch ductile iron water main; 13,548 L.F. of 6-inch ductile iron water main; 3,670 L.F. 2” polyvinyl chloride water main; including all necessary and required appurtenances and service changeovers; and erosion and sedimentation control.

THE BID OPENING FOR THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED. THE NEW BID DATE IS THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2010, at 2 p.m.
THE PROJECT consists of the following major elements: Furnishing all products and performing all labor necessary for the construction of a pedestrian bridge, consisting of two 76’ prestressed concrete beams spans, one 111’ prestressed concrete beam span, prestressed concrete piles, two U-shaped concrete end bents, two concrete intermediate bents, ornate arched fence, lighting, site improvements; utilities relocation and improvements; erosion and sedimentation control measures; site clearing; fine grading; signage; parking areas (including asphalt paved surfaces; curb and gutter; stripping); turf establishment/final stabilization; landscaping; and all other items noted on plans and specifications. This project is to be constructed in accordance with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Standard Specifications Construction of Transportation Systems, 2001 edition, including all supplemental specifications issued prior to receiving bids for this project.
