Food Truck Friday returns June 11 to Lake Lanier Olympic Park

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (June 9, 2021) – The 2021 season of Food Truck Friday continues this week, June 11, at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

Come hungry from 5-9 p.m. and indulge in a generous lineup of food, beverage and dessert trucks, plus live entertainment and more.

“The 2021 Food Truck Friday series has been more successful than we ever could’ve imagined,” said Lake Lanier Olympic Park Special Events Manager Eric Larsen. “Residents and visitors are definitely taking advantage of every excuse to get out, enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, as well as one another’s company. You get all these things at Food Truck Friday, plus beer, wine and good eats – and don’t forget dessert!"

The following food trucks are expected at the June event: Tap It Growlers, offering beer and wine; Downtown Drafts, also offering beer and wine; Mutt & Jeff's Smokehouse, offering fresh-brewed sweet tea and loaded barbecue nachos; Paw Paw's Peanuts, offering fresh-squeezed lemonade and hot boiled peanuts; Talmo Market Grill, offering hand-pattied burgers made with grass-fed Talmo Ranch beef; All Around The World, offering world fare; Let’s Taco Bout It, offering saucy tacos and fries; Kajun Asian, bringing Creole Cajun Asian fusion to North Georgia; Dot Bowl, offering Korean barbecue with their famous fire meat; Pass the Plates, offering tasty pitas; Carta’s Azucar Cuban Cuisine, offering Cuban sandwiches and more; Juke N Jive Creamery, offering creamy, melt-in-your-mouth scoops of ice cream; Fairly Local Cupcakes, offering gourmet cupcakes and muffins; and Snowie Atlanta, offering shaved ice and mini hot donuts.

Nick & the Knacks, playing iconic rocks tunes from the '80s and '90s, will take the stage from 6-9 p.m. to energize the crowd, getting them on their feet and dancing to the beat.

Additional vendors will include Explore Gainesville, featuring Gainesville Public Relations staff celebrating the City's bicentennial; American Boat Brokers; J Geyer; Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club; Lake Lanier Rowing Club; Rugged Axe Throwing Co.; SunHeist Eyewear; Thrivent Financial; recruiters with the United States Army; and Watkins Total Healthcare, among others.

Those who attend, including vendors, will be encouraged to wear masks or face coverings, unless eating or drinking; practice social distancing (6 feet, please!); and wash/sanitize their hands often.

To encourage social distancing, tables – and sanitizing stations – will be spaced out throughout the venue, offering attendees the opportunity to enjoy their food and/or beverage, but safely.

While event organizers will be taking every precaution to ensure social distancing and appropriate hygiene takes place, attendees will also have a chance to do their part.

Those interested in making the most of their night out may reserve in advance private lakeside seating, which includes an 8-foot table on the grandstands with seating for six. A fee of $35 secures your table, which includes four seat cushions (for you to keep) and two end chairs, allowing ample space between your group and others. Seating is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Make your reservation here.

Can't make this particular event? The 2021 Food Truck Friday season includes the following future date: Aug. 13. Please note there will not be a Food Truck Friday event held in July.

Lake Lanier Olympic Park is located at 3105 Clarks Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30506 – look for the tower!
