DWR to test system, intermittent water outages expected

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Feb. 3, 2021) – Some City of Gainesville customers will experience temporary water outages Thursday, Feb. 4, as the Gainesville Department of Water Resources (DWR) tests its system.

Water supplied to Brenau University and 25-30 residences on the following streets will be off intermittently from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: Prior Street, from Spring to Candler streets; all of Candler Street, from Green Street to dead end; and possibly Perry Street.

DWR will be testing shutdown in these areas for future valve installation.

Those navigating the area are urged to drive carefully, and watch for construction workers and equipment during this time.
